Our Junior Group Coaching is fun and dynamic, with a focus on getting kids playing “real tennis” quickly with modified games, equipment and scoring. We have a “play and learn” philosophy and believe the skills are best learned in an open format with activities and game play dominant over static technical instruction. We try to quickly incorporate our teaching points into a game like scenario. The most important factor still being that it should be fun! All of our younger group classes aim to have between a 4:1 and 6:1 ratio of student to coach/assistant coach. As kids get older, our coaching ratios are 6:1. Not sure which class is for you? Mondays 3.45-4.30, $133 (7 weeks)

For young players aged 5-7yrs. These lessons are a great way to start learning tennis. Lots of fun! Small Courts, Mini-nets and low compression (red) balls make it easier to learn to play real tennis. Lessons include rallying, hand eye co-ordination exercises, basic technical instruction and games
Tuesdays 4.15-5.15pm $158 incl gst

This class is for beginner and progressing players aged 8-11years. We use ¾ sized courts and orange low compression balls, which make it easier to learn to play ‘real tennis’. Lessons include rallying, hand-eye co-ordination exercises, basic technical instruction and games.
Tuesdays 5.15-6.15pm $158 (incl gst)
Thursdays - to be confirmed
This class uses full sized courts with 75% compression (green) balls which are easier to rally with, as they are slower and don’t bounce as high as yellow balls. Learn more advanced technique and match play skills. Players need to be able to rally from the baseline to join this class.
Wednesdays 4.30-5.30pm $158
These classes are for teenagers only. We focus on rallying and match-play skills with technique catering to different levels. Groups are split from beginner to intermediate within the class
NB- All players, 8 years and older, receiving coaching at the club, must be members of the Wanaka Tennis Club or pay casual court fees. For club memberships, head to the Wanaka Tennis Club at clubspark.kiwi/wanakatennisclub, or pay casual court fees when you book and pay for your class.
RAIN CANCELLATIONS: All classes will have one week spare at the end of term to do any makeup lessons if required. If two classes are missed due to rain, we will have a double class make up lesson in the last week of term. Weather updates for cancelled classes will show on Aspiring Tennis Academy Facebook page 30mins before lessons begin, please do not contact us via Facebook or messenger.
